Verteporfin photodynamic therapy for subfoveal choroidal neovascularization in pathologic myopia: a 12-month retrospective review.
PURPOSE To evaluate the visual outcome of patients with subfoveal choroidal neovascularization (CNV) secondary to pathologic myopia treated with verteporfin photodynamic therapy (PDT-V) and to verify the predictive role of visual and angiographic parameters. METHODS This is a retrospective, interventional, consecutive case series study of subjects with subfoveal CNV secondary to pathologic my...

AIMS To evaluate the visual and fluorescein angiographic outcomes of photodynamic therapy (PDT) with verteporfin in patients with subfoveal choroidal neovascularisation (CNV) caused by pathologic myopia in the Chinese. METHODS Prospective, non-comparative, two centre interventional study. Patients with CNV secondary to pathologic myopia of Chinese ethnicity were recruited and treated with a s...
متن کامل[Photodynamic therapy with verteporfin for subfoveal choroidal neovascularization in central serous chorioretinopathy: case report].
We report the use of photodynamic therapy with verteporfin for subfoveal choroidal neovacularization in central serous chorioretinopathy. Visual acuity improved (0.5 to 1.0) 30 days after the first session. After 141 days, the choroidal neovascularization reactivated and the patient was retreated. Again, visual acuity improved (0.5 to 1.0) 30 days afterwards. It remains stable after 20 months. ...

OBJECTIVE To determine if photodynamic therapy with verteporfin (Visudyne; CIBA Vision Corp, Duluth, GA) can improve the chance of stabilizing or improving vision (<8 letter loss) safely in patients with subfoveal choroidal neovascularization (CNV) caused by pathologic myopia. DESIGN Multicenter, double-masked, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial at 28 ophthalmology practices in Eur...
متن کاملPhotodynamic Therapy of Subfoveal Choroidal Neovascularization in Age-related Macular Degeneration With Verteporfin
Methods: Six hundred nine patients were randomly assigned (2:1) to verteporfin (6 mg per square meter of body surface area) or placebo (5% dextrose in water) administered via intravenous infusion of 30 mL over 10 minutes. Fifteen minutes after the start of the infusion, a laser light at 689 nm delivered 50 J/cm at an intensity of 600 mW/cm over 83 seconds using a spot size with a diameter 1000 ...
